There were so many concerts at the Brecht Forum in NYC over by west 12th st and the west side highway, organized by Ras Moshe Burnett. One time we played with Charles Gayle and afterwards Charles asked me which way I was headed. I said “west”, which broke us up as west leads right into the river. I recall concerts by Warren Smith, Leena Conquest, Ted Daniel, Sabir Mateen, Daniel Carter, Ras Moshe, and Roy Campbell. The list goes on and on. We played with Bern Nix there. In 2009 I was trying to get Giuseppi Logan every gig I could rustle/hustle up, and I remember this one was on such short notice that I didn’t get a chance to cover drums as Warren Smith couldn’t make it. What you hear is just the way we were playing then, especially in Francois kitchen.

G was in great form and we were having a lot of fun. There was a good crowd that was feeling us.

Listen and hear as three different generations just had a ball and vibed
